Partnered with well-known Kenyan sculptors Elkana Ongesa and Gerard Motondi to host the initial 2011 AST Stone Sculpture Symposium funded by UNESCO’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). There have been 4 editions held to date. AST Facebook page
2011 AST edition was held for one-month long in August- September in Kisii County- Kenya.
Ten seasoned local and overseas male and female stone sculptors were invited from all over the world to spend the one month carving local stones. The successful applicants were offered opportunity to visit Kisii County, live and work with local traditional and contemporary artists.
